About Kelley Crisp

Kelley Crisp has built her career on service, integrity, and a commitment to justice for the people of Bowie County. She joined the Bowie County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in 2010 and made history in 2019 when she was appointed the first woman to serve as First Assistant Criminal District Attorney. She currently serves as the Chief Felony Prosecutor in the 202nd District Court, where she handles the county’s most serious and violent criminal cases.

With three degrees from the University of Arkansas—a BA, MA, and Juris Doctor—Kelley combines academic rigor with years of courtroom experience. After beginning her legal career in private civil practice, she moved to Texarkana in 2007 and dedicated herself fully to criminal prosecution.

Kelley’s deep involvement in the community extends well beyond the courtroom. She serves as president of the ArkLaTex 100 Club, supporting first responders and their families.

Kelley regularly partners with schools and civic organizations to teach about mandatory reporting, child grooming behaviors, indicators of abuse, and the dangers of online predators.

She also volunteers with the Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center as part of its mission to prevent child abuse through education. In 2025, Kelley was awarded CASA’s Hero of Hope Award for her commitment to serving victims of child abuse in Bowie County. Read more.

Kelley is a frequent instructor at the local police academy, helping new officers understand the criminal laws they’ll apply in the field. She was selected for the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association’s “Train the Trainers” program, preparing her to teach continuing legal education to prosecutors across the state.

Kelley lives in Texarkana with her husband, John, and their son.
