New Boston’s Shop With a Cop
Kelley Crisp joined local officers in New Boston yesterday for the annual Shop with a Cop program—a community initiative that provides families with needed support while strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the people they serve.
For Kelley, programs like this reflect the heart of effective public safety. She sees firsthand how meaningful it is when officers and community members connect outside of crisis or enforcement.
“When people know the officers in their community as real people, not just uniforms, it changes things,” Kelley said. “It builds trust, strengthens communication, and ultimately keeps everyone safer.”
Officers at the event went above and beyond for the families they served. Their involvement wasn’t a formality or a box to check; it was genuine, compassionate service. Kelley believes these moments of connection are essential in building the kind of justice system Bowie County deserves—one rooted in partnership, presence, and real relationships.
As she continues her work in the community and her campaign for Bowie County District Attorney, Kelley remains committed to supporting programs that bring officers and families together in meaningful ways.
